In a significant milestone for Nigerian football, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has launched the CAF B-Licence Coaching Course in Abuja, marking a major stride in the development of the sport. This initiative comes after a 7-year hiatus, underscoring the NFF’s commitment to enhancing the capabilities of coaches nationwide.

President of the NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON), inaugurated the first batch of participants at the NFF-FIFA Technical Centre inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja. Expressing his delight, Gusau emphasized the importance of progress in Nigerian football:

“Today marks a moment of great joy for me. This initiative has long been in the planning stages, and seeing it materialize today is incredibly fulfilling.”

Gusau commended the NFF Technical Department, led by Coach Augustine Eguavoen, for their diligence in planning the course. He urged participants to fully immerse themselves in the learning experience, stressing that this is a great opportunity to improve themselves.

The CAF B-Licence coaching course is a critical element of the NFF’s strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the capabilities of coaches throughout Nigeria. The four-month course will be conducted in various modules, ensuring a comprehensive and structured learning experience. This first batch has a total of 25 participants.

The launch was attended by top NFF officials, including the 2nd Vice President, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye; Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Sub-Committee, Alhaji Sharif Rabiu Inuwa; and NFF Technical Director, Coach Augustine Eguavoen.
