Rivers Hoopers have booked their place in the playoffs of the 2025 Basketball Africa League (BAL) following a hard-fought 79–71 victory over hosts Fath Union Sport (FUS Rabat) on Thursday.
The win marks their third victory in four games in the Kalahari Conference, with their only loss coming against Egypt’s Al Ittihad Alexandria in their third outing.
Currently sitting second on the standings, the Hoopers trail Al Ittihad Alexandria, who remain unbeaten with four wins from four games.

With two games left to play, the Kingsmen have now secured a playoff berth for the second consecutive season. They will join top teams from the Nile and Sahara Conferences in the 2025 BAL Playoffs and Finals, scheduled to take place in Pretoria, South Africa, from June 6–14.
The Hoopers aim to close out the Kalahari Conference regular season on a strong note, targeting a season sweep against Mali’s Stade Malien and seeking redemption against Al Ittihad Alexandria following their earlier 100–80 defeat.
