World record holder Tobi Amusan is set to continue her 2025 outdoor season this Sunday as she competes in the fourth leg of the Wanda Diamond League in Rabat, Morocco.
The 28-year-old Nigerian hurdler has been officially listed among the entries for the women’s 100m hurdles and will make her second Diamond League appearance of the year. She previously opened her season in Xiamen, China, on April 26, where she placed fourth with a time of 12.74 seconds, finishing behind Danielle Williams (Jamaica), Grace Stark (USA), and Marione Fourie (South Africa).
Amusan was initially scheduled to represent Nigeria at the World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China, earlier this month but was sidelined due to the Athletics Federation of Nigeria’s withdrawal from the event. She also missed the Atlanta City Games and was not present at the third leg of the Diamond League in Doha, where the 100m hurdles wasn’t contested.
Having also placed fourth in the second Diamond League stop in Shanghai on May 3, Amusan is aiming for a stronger performance in Rabat as she builds momentum toward the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo this September.
A podium finish in Rabat would significantly boost her confidence and ranking as she continues preparations for another global title chase.
