In a major milestone for women’s football on the continent, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially unveiled the logo and match emblem for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2024, scheduled to take place from July 5 to 26, 2024.

The striking new visuals represent a modern and dynamic identity for the prestigious tournament and underscore CAF’s continued commitment to growing and professionalizing women’s football in Africa.

According to CAF, the design reflects a “bold new era” in African women’s football, with an emblem that combines African cultural elements with modern aesthetics, symbolizing empowerment, growth, and unity across the continent. The branding also aligns with CAF’s broader strategic goal of raising the commercial and global profile of women’s football.

This unveiling follows a series of transformative developments for the women’s game on the continent, including increased prize money, expanded media coverage, and enhanced support for national teams.

Morocco, the host nation, is expected to deliver a world-class tournament, building on the success of the 2022 edition, which also took place in the North African country and set new records in viewership, attendance, and competitive quality.

Twelve national teams will battle for continental glory in July, including defending champions South Africa, 11-time winners Nigeria, hosts Morocco, and other emerging sides like Zambia, Tunisia, and Burkina Faso, as women’s football continues to enjoy rapid growth across the continent.

With excitement building and branding now officially in place, the countdown to WAFCON 2024 is fully underway — promising not just a tournament, but a celebration of African talent, passion, and progress.
