Flying Eagles Arrives Telca

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles touched down in the Chilean city of Talca on Thursday afternoon as they gear up for the 24th edition of the FIFA U20 World Cup finals. The city will host Group F fixtures featuring Nigeria, Norway, Saudi Arabia, and Colombia.

On arrival, the two-time World Cup runners-up were welcomed by officials of FIFA, the Local Organizing Committee, and hotel staff. Later in the evening, the squad had their first training session in Talca.

The team is accommodated at Hotel Diego de Almagro. Their arrival follows a 12-day intensive training camp in Santiago, where they faced host nation Chile and Australia in friendly matches as part of their tournament build-up.

During those friendlies, Nigeria held Chile to a 1-1 draw before sealing a 3-1 victory over Australia on Tuesday in Santiago.

The Flying Eagles will open their World Cup campaign against Norway on Monday, 29 September, at Estadio Fiscal de Talca. Their subsequent group fixtures will be against Saudi Arabia and Colombia.
