Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi lost disgracefully to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup quarter-final. Eberechi Eze was the tormentor in chief as Crystal walked over Fulham, scoring a goal and providing an assist to guarantee his side a date at Wembley.

Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina were both on duty for Nottingham Forest in their penalty shoot out win over Brighton Hove Albion in the FA cup. Awoniyi was withdrawn early in the second period while Ola Aina played all of 120 minutes of action. Nottingham won the shoot out and progress to the semi final stage.

Tom Dele Bashiru and Watford played a 0-0 draw at home against Plymouth Argyle in the English Championship. Dele-Bashiru played on the pitch for 62 minutes before he was withdrawn. Plymouth had a Nigerian on their side too, with Muhammed Tijani coming off the pitch in the 85th minute of the game.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored his first goal for Middlesbrough and his first goal in 114 days when he leveled the scores for Michael Carrick’s side in the 48th minute of play. Middlesbrough will go on to win the game courtesy a late winner by Neto Borges in the 80th minute.

Kelechi Nwakali and his Barnsley side played out a 1-1 draw away from home. The former kid prodigy played all of 90 minutes and helped his side secure a vital point on the road.

In Italy, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro and his Sampdoria side got beaten massively at home by visitors Frosinone. Ebenezer came off the bench in the 55th minute of action but could do nothing to help his side turn the tides as they ultimately fell on their sword.

In Germany, Frank Onyeka and Gift Orban went head-to-head in the Bundesliga, with both teams settling for a point a piece. Augsburg went ahead in the 46th minute before Hoffenheim pulled level in the 71st minute. Gift Orban was withdrawn in the 61st minute while Frank Onyeka was withdrawn from action in the 72nd minute.

Victor Boniface and his Bayern Leverkusen side had made light work of VFL Bochum on Friday, with the striker restoring his side’s lead to ultimately lead them to victory.

In France, the big news is that Terem Moffi is back. Terem and his Nice side lost 2-1 away from home to Monaco in the Ligue 1. On a personal note, it’s nice to have players return from injury and we hope Moffi doesn’t get to deal with this again.

In Cyprus, Francis Uzoho was on the bench throughout his side’s 3-1 away loss to Pafos.

Ekpolo and his AEK Larnaca side played out a 1-1- draw at home with Aris Limassol. Ekpolo played all of 90 minutes in this one.

In Scotland, Leon Balogun and Cyril Dessers played out an interesting 3-4 away win against Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership. Both players started the game for their sides, with Cyril Dessers playing all of 90 minutes and ultimately having the last laugh as he got the winning goal in the 93rd minute as his side clawed their way back from 3-1 to win 3-4 in the final third of the game.

In Turkey, Victor Osimhen and his Galatasaray side lost 2-1 away from home to Besiktas, a slip that might embolden Jose Mourinho and his chasing Fernebache pack.

Still in Turkey, Dennis and his Goztepe side played a 1-1 draw away from home with Trabzonspor. Dennis lasted for 85 minutes in this game before he was pulled out.

In Major League Soccer, Yusuf Abdullahi and his New England side won 2-1 on home ground against New York Red Bull. Yusuf started on his return from the international break and helped his side secure victory.

Chidozie Awaziem also featured for his side, Colorado Rapids in their 2-0 win over Charlotte FC. He played for all of 90 minutes and got a yellow card for his troubles.
