Sabalenka Ends Final Hoodoo
Coming into Miami, Sabalenka had lost back-to-back finals, falling to Madison Keys at the Australian Open and Mirra Andreeva at Indian Wells. But this time, she left no room for doubt.
“I’m speechless,” Sabalenka admitted after her victory. “The last couple of finals were really tough and tight and close ones for me, so going into this one I was so focused on myself. I was super focused and playing point by point. It feels super special and really happy with the title – the first in Miami. It was back and forth the whole match. I was fighting no matter what and, even after each game she broke, I was fighting back and breaking her back.”
Champion of the 305 👑 This one is extra special, my home away from home ♥️ Thank you Miami!

Miami Triumph Cements Sabalenka’s Growing Legacy
Since her 2017 tour debut, Sabalenka has now claimed 17 hard-court titles, the most of any active player—five more than Iga Swiatek. She also became just the third woman ever to reach the finals of the Australian Open, Indian Wells, and Miami Open in the same season.
En route to glory, she defeated three Top 10 players—No.4 Pegula, No.7 Jasmine Paolini, and No.9 Zheng Qinwen—for only the second time in her career. She dropped just 30 games across six matches in Miami, reinforcing her status as the dominant force on hard courts.
With this historic triumph, Aryna Sabalenka adds another milestone to her glittering career. And if her Miami performance is anything to go by, the reigning world No.1 is far from done yet.
