Al Hilal's Asisat Oshoala wins Player of The Month Award

Asisat Oshoala has made a strong entrance in Saudi Arabia. The Super Falcons striker has been named Saudi Women’s League Player of the Month for September, following a blistering start at Al Hilal.

In just three matches, she recorded three goals and two assists, underlining her attacking instincts and ability to combine deft finishing with creative setups.

The award also arrives just days after she scored against her compatriot, Ashleigh Plumptre, during the clash between Al Hilal and Al Ittihad.

Oshoala’s arrival in Riyadh was formalized in September 2025, when she signed a two-year contract after departing Bay FC in the NWSL. Before that, she enjoyed a storied spell at FC Barcelona, where she won multiple league titles and two UEFA Women’s Champions League trophies, as well as earlier stints in England (Arsenal, Liverpool) and China (Dalian Quanjian).

This recognition not only underlines Oshoala’s impact in her new environment but also highlights the league’s rising profile. Following her success with the Super Falcons in lifting a record tenth Women’s African Cup of Nations title, she has seamlessly carried that momentum into her club career with Al Hilal, proving once more why she remains one of Africa’s most decorated female footballers.
