Nigerian striker Victor Boniface faces fresh uncertainty over his move to AC Milan, after Bayer Leverkusen’s new coach Erik ten Hag and sporting director Simon Rolfes signaled that the deal could collapse.
Rolfes told German outlet BILD that Boniface’s situation has changed:
“If Boniface comes back to Leverkusen, the AC Milan deal will be over. That’s no big secret.”
He also ruled out new talks, adding:
“Renegotiating the deal? I don’t think that will happen. His physical situation has improved compared to the beginning.”
This twist comes at a crucial time for Boniface, who is seen as a key figure in Nigeria’s preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers. With his fitness improving and Ten Hag keen to reshape Leverkusen, the striker may yet remain central to the Bundesliga side’s plans instead of moving to Serie A.
