
Ex-Super Eagles striker, Brown IDeye, scored a brace to power Enyimba past Kwara United in their matchday 36 clash at the Enyimba International stadium, Aba.
Going into the game, Enyimba was fifth on the log with 52 points and desperately needed the win to ensure they stood a chance of finishing in one of the last two available Champions League slots.
Enyimba came out of the blocks early, piling pressure on the visitors as early as the third minute of the encounter before pressure finally told in the 12th minute when the veteran striker Brown Ideye slotted past Suraj Ayeloso in the Kwara United goal for 1-0.
With a few minutes left till half time, Brown Ideye stepped up again to seal the result and put the game beyond Kwara United and secure all three points for Enyimba International.
The win moves the People’s Elephants up to 55 points, with the draw for Abia Warriors and the Win for Ikorodu United ensuring that the status quo is maintained on the log at the top of the table.
