Nigeria’s D’Tigers will be aiming to seal their place in the quarterfinals of the ongoing FIBA Afrobasket 2025 when they face Cameroon in their final group stage encounter at the Pavilhão Multiusos de Luanda, Angola.

The Nigerian side have been in blistering form so far, beginning their campaign with a 77-59 triumph over Madagascar before dismantling defending champions Tunisia 87-66 in their second outing.

Cameroon, meanwhile, have also impressed in the group, opening with an emphatic 86-65 victory over Tunisia before edging Madagascar 80-77 in a tense contest to set up a decisive clash against Nigeria.

Under tournament regulations, only the top team in each group advances directly to the quarterfinals, while the second- and third-placed teams must go through an elimination round. This means D’Tigers need one more win to guarantee their passage to the last eight.

Nigeria will draw confidence from their past meetings with Cameroon. In their last Afrobasket clash in 2017, D’Tigers defeated the Indomitable Lions 106-91 to reach the semifinals.

They also claimed a 91-84 win when both sides met at the 2013 FIBA Africa Championship, although Cameroon had the upper hand in 2009 with an 84-80 victory.

Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m, and Nigeria will be pushing to make it three wins from three in the group stage and book an automatic quarterfinal ticket at the 2025 Afrobasket.
