Genk manager Thorsten Fink has clarified that the Belgian club is yet to receive any official offers for Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare, despite growing speculation about the forward’s future.
Arokodare, who enjoyed a solid campaign last season, has reportedly attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and VfB Stuttgart. There have also been whispers of a potential move to the English Premier League.
As Genk resumed pre-season training for the upcoming 2025/26 season on Friday, Fink played down rumours surrounding the 23-year-old’s possible departure.
“As long as nothing happens, it’s just rumours,” the coach said in an interview with TV Limburg, underlining that no concrete bids have been tabled so far.
Despite the coach’s calm tone, signs suggest the club may be preparing for Arokodare’s exit. Reports indicate that Genk and the player have reached a mutual understanding regarding a transfer, provided a suitable opportunity arises.
Genk’s chairman, Peter Croonen, previously stated that any potential transfer would have to surpass the €18 million the club received from Southampton for Paul Onuachu in 2023. With Arokodare’s value on the rise, Genk is believed to be seeking over €20 million for his services.
Behind the scenes, sporting director Dimitri De Condé is reportedly busy orchestrating both incoming and outgoing moves to strengthen the squad. The club has already secured the signature of midfielder Daan Heymans and is expected to make further additions, especially if Arokodare departs in the coming weeks.
While the summer transfer window continues to heat up, Arokodare’s situation remains one to watch closely as top European clubs weigh their options.
