Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman will be looking to score his 10th Serie A goal of the season as Atalanta faces Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico tonight.
The Nigerian international recently won the 2024 African Footballer of the Year award in Marrakesh, Morocco. This accolade capped an impressive year in which he ranked 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or in Paris.
Lookman has delivered an outstanding performance this season, with nine goals and four assists in 14 league games. With his current form, the Super Eagles star looks set to end the year on a high note by reaching double figures in goals for the third consecutive Serie A season.
If Lookman scores tonight, the 27-year-old will join an elite group of
Nigerians, becoming only the second player to achieve double-digit goals
in three consecutive Serie A seasons, following Victor Osimhen, who
managed this feat over four seasons with Napoli.
In addition to seeking his 10th goal, Lookman will aim to help Atalanta secure a vital win against an in-form Lazio side featuring fellow Nigerian international Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
In all competitions this season, Lookman has scored 12 goals in 20 appearances while delivering five assists.
