
Semi-finalists have been confirmed in the 2025 President Federation Cup, as Rangers, Kwara United, Ikorodu City, and surprise package Abakaliki FC booked their places in the last four after a thrilling round of quarter-final action on Saturday.
In Abuja, five-time champions Rangers edged past Plateau United 1–0 thanks to a composed finish from midfielder Chiedozie Okorie in the 30th minute. The Flying Antelopes now set up a semi-final showdown against Kwara United.
Kwara United delivered one of the day’s most dramatic comebacks, overturning a 2–0 deficit to level before halftime, sparked by a brilliant brace from Wasiu Alalade. Tunde Sanni’s men then held their nerve to defeat Akwa United 5–4 in a tense penalty shootout.
Elsewhere, at Abuja’s Bwari Stadium, Ikorodu City edged past Nigeria National League side Wikki Tourists 1–0, with Shola Adelani calmly converting a 55th-minute penalty to secure the Oga Boys’ place in the semis.
Completing the semi-final lineup are giant-killers Abakaliki FC, who shocked Nasarawa United by winning 5–4 on penalties after a 1–1 draw in regulation time.
The stage is now set for two fascinating semi-final clashes: Rangers vs. Kwara United and Ikorodu City vs. Abakaliki FC, as the race for Federation Cup glory heats up.
