The Super Eagles of Nigeria have returned home after securing a crucial 2-0 victory against Rwanda in Kigali on Friday, reigniting their hopes in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Their flight touched down at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo, where they were met with excitement and anticipation ahead of their next match.

Joining them at the airport were players and officials of the Zimbabwe national team, who also arrived in Nigeria aboard ValueJet, the official airline of the Super Eagles. The Zimbabwean delegation, escorted by representatives of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is set to face Nigeria on Tuesday in a must-watch Group C showdown.

Super Eagles Settle in Uyo

Upon arrival, the Super Eagles moved into their lodging at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Ikot Ekpene, where they will rest and prepare for their upcoming match. Eric Chelle’s squad is expected to hold a training session on Sunday at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, where the Tuesday clash will take place.

The team returns to Uyo with boosted confidence following their win over Rwanda, thanks to a brilliant brace by Victor Osimhen. With that victory, Nigeria’s World Cup campaign remains on track, as they sit in second place on the Group C table, just behind South Africa.

Zimbabwe’s Arrival and Preparation

Meanwhile, the Warriors of Zimbabwe face a tougher task, as they currently sit at the bottom of Group C with just three points after five matches. Their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup are hanging by a thread, and they will be looking to upset the Super Eagles in Uyo to keep their slim chances alive.

What’s Next?

The Super Eagles are expected to focus on tactical drills, fitness, and fine-tuning their strategy during their training sessions leading up to the match. With key players like Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, and Ademola Lookman in top form, fans are optimistic that the team will deliver another solid performance at home.

The Super Eagles vs. Zimbabwe encounter on Tuesday is expected to draw a massive crowd at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, as Nigeria aims to extend their winning streak and strengthen their World Cup qualification bid.
