Head Coach Eric Chelle has named a 25-man Super Eagles squad for the upcoming Unity Cup Tournament in London, featuring star names like Moses Simon, Wilfred Ndidi, Ahmed Musa, and Stanley Nwabali. The tournament, scheduled for late May at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, will see Nigeria face arch-rivals Ghana in the semi-finals on May 28.

Chelle emphasized the tournament’s role in testing new talents, as he included standout Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) players such as Junior Harrison Nduka, Sodiq Ismaila, and Papa Daniel Mustapha.

The Unity Cup features four teams: Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago. The winners of the two semi-finals will meet in the final on May 31, with the losers contesting the third-place match earlier that day.

In addition, Chelle has called up 21 players for an international friendly against Russia on June 6 in Moscow, with notable inclusions like William Troost-Ekong, Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyedika, and Bright Osayi-Samuel.

These matches will serve as crucial preparation for Nigeria’s competitive fixtures later in the year.
