Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman faces a tense final day in the transfer window as he continues his push to leave Atalanta this season.
The winger appeared close to resolving his future after Bayern Munich secured approval for a loan deal with Atalanta. This came in the wake of Chelsea’s withdrawal from Nicolas Jackson’s loan move, with the London club recalling him following Liam Delap’s injury.
Chelsea’s decision to bring Jackson back was met with resistance from the player’s camp, with his agent remarking that “planes don’t go backwards, only forward.”
Amid uncertainty over Jackson’s situation, Chelsea has now agreed with Sunderland to terminate young striker Marc Guiu’s loan contract, potentially reopening the door for Jackson’s switch to Bayern.
Should that deal be completed, Bayern’s move for Lookman could collapse, leaving him with limited options. His most realistic destination would then be Turkey, where the transfer window remains open for another 15 days.
