The Flying Eagles of Nigeria were forced to settle for a 0-0 stalemate against Morocco in their second Group B encounter at the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (U-20 AFCON) on Sunday at Cairo’s June 30 Air Defence Stadium.
In a tense, tactical battle, neither side managed to carve out clear-cut chances, with Nigeria controlling the first half but registering just one shot on target. Morocco, meanwhile, dominated second-half possession but struggled to seriously test Nigerian goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt.

The result leaves Morocco top of Group B on goal difference, level with Nigeria on four points. Tunisia, who earlier defeated Kenya 3-1, sit close behind with three points.
The Flying Eagles now turn their focus to a decisive final group match against Kenya on Wednesday at 4 p.m., knowing a win would secure their passage to the knockout stages.
With the top four finishers at this U-20 AFCON earning spots at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile (Sept. 27–Oct. 19), every point counts as Nigeria chase a return to the global stage.
