Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen delivered a stellar performance in the Turkish Cup final, scoring a second-half brace to lead Galatasaray to a dominant 3-0 win over Trabzonspor at the Gaziantep Stadium. The victory earned the Turkish giants their record-extending 19th Turkish Cup title, solidifying their status as the most successful club in the competition’s history.
Barış Alper Yılmaz opened the scoring in the 5th minute, finishing off a slick team move that featured Osimhen in the build-up. The Nigerian forward doubled the lead just after halftime, latching onto a pass from Yunus Akgün, brushing off his marker, and rifling a low shot into the bottom corner past the Trabzonspor goalkeeper.
Victor Osimhen wasn’t finished. In the 63rd minute, he capped off a brilliant counterattack—Álvaro Morata delivered a pinpoint long ball to Akgün, who squared it perfectly for Osimhen to slot home his second of the night.
The brace brought Osimhen’s tally to five goals in four Turkish Cup appearances, and 35 goals with 8 assists in 39 matches across all competitions this season—an exceptional return in his debut campaign with Galatasaray.

Fresh from a 2-0 league win over Trabzonspor last weekend, Galatasaray have now secured the first leg of a potential domestic double, with the Süper Lig title within reach.
Trabzonspor, who topped Group A and survived two narrow knockout fixtures, failed to replicate that form in the final and were comfortably second-best on the night.
Osimhen’s heroics underline his impact since arriving in Istanbul and mark a major milestone as he lifts his first piece of silverware with Galatasaray.
