Super Eagles duo, Calvin Bassey and Alexander Iwobi, had a torrid day at the office as they failed to fly against Chelsea.

The World Champions, Chelsea, started the game on the back foot, with Fulham getting the better of Chelsea in the opening exchanges. The pressure eventually told when in the 21st minute when Josh King timed his run to perfection, beating Tosin Adebaraiyo and slotting past a hapless Robert Sanchez in goal. VAR however came to Chelsea’s aid with a foul called in the buildup to the goal.

This was the wakeup call Chelsea needed, bursting to life and finally geting the goal they desperately needed in the 9th minute of injury time in the first half. Joao Pedro rose highest to connect to a nEnzo Fernandez cross, putting Chelsea ahead into the break.

Chelsea will get a penalty in the second half that was expertly dispatched by Enzo Fernandez, sealing the 2-0 win for the Blues and moving them temporarily into first place in the Premier League.
