The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced that all matchday 37 fixtures will kick off simultaneously as the 2024/25 season reaches its penultimate round.

According to the directive, all games are scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday across various centres nationwide.

Chief Operating Officer of the NPFL, Davidson Owumi, emphasized that the decision is part of the league’s commitment to fairness and integrity in the closing stages of the season.

“We earlier directed that for the trophy presentation ceremony in Ikenne, the fixture should kick-off at 3:00 pm for safety reasons,” Owumi stated.

“After extensive assessment of all the fixtures which impacts the outcome for continental slots and relegation survival, we resolved to set a uniform kick-off time for all.”

Remo Stars have already secured the NPFL title and will be officially crowned champions following their home fixture against Ikorodu on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the fight for second and third place remains fierce, with several clubs still competing for coveted continental competition spots.

The relegation battle is equally intense, as teams scramble to avoid the drop. Lobi Stars, however, have already been relegated to the Nigeria National League (NNL) ahead of the final two rounds.

With the NPFL’s uniform kick-off directive, fans can expect a thrilling and unpredictable matchday across all venues as the season nears its dramatic conclusion.
