Heartland FC’s head coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, has said that his team is in Ikenne to get a positive result in their match day 29 fixture against table-toppers Remo Stars.

Heartland position
Amuneke’s Heartland FC currently sits 15th on the log with 34 points from 28 games, just two points ahead of Nasarawa United in the relegation zone with 32 points and 20 points behind Remo Stars at the top of the table with 54 points.
Heartland is winless in four games, losing 2-1 to Niger Tornadoes, drawing 0-0 to El-Kanemi Warriors at home, losing 2-0 to Ikorodu City in Lagos, and drawing 1-1 with Bayelsa United most recently at home, a run of results that worries all associated with the club.
Amuneke’s words
In an exclusive interview with Modzero Sports and Bold Sports, Amuneke believes the game is up for grabs and his team is in Ikenne for a good result.
“We came here with one thing in mind, our objective is to play our game and get a positive result and I think no player or no coach will go into a game wanting to lose so we are here, we want to win the game because we know if we can have a positive result here it will help us a lot in our quest in terms of where we want to be but also we must realize that we are playing the leader”
Remo Stars position
Remo Stars are top of the table and currently on course to finally break their duck and clinch their first NPFL title after a couple of near misses in recent years. In the 2023 abridged season, Remo came second in group A with 33 points, one point behind group leaders Bendel Insurance and came second in the championship round, finishing level on points with winners Enyimba, who won by having a better goal against record
