Super Eagles striker and Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen has joined in the celebration of Remo Stars FC’s historic Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title win by donating a whopping ₦10 million to the triumphant club.
In a heartwarming show of solidarity and national pride, Osimhen split the donation equally—₦5 million for the players and ₦5 million for the technical crew—recognizing the extraordinary effort that powered Remo Stars to their first-ever NPFL title.
The 2024/25 season victory is monumental for Remo Stars, making them the first South West club in 25 years to be crowned NPFL champions, a feat last achieved by Julius Berger in 2000.
Osimhen personally contacted head coach Daniel Ogunmodede via video call, extending his congratulations and lauding the team for their resilience, belief, and excellence throughout a grueling campaign. His heartfelt gesture has been met with widespread praise across Nigerian football circles, with many applauding the Galatasaray hero’s continued support for the domestic league.
The donation comes just after President Bola Tinubu also celebrated the club’s victory, commending the players, coaches, and management for their “hard work, discipline, and unyielding spirit.” He noted that their persistence after three previous near-misses showed their true championship character.
As Remo Stars gear up for their debut campaign in the CAF Champions League, Osimhen’s generous support adds a fitting sparkle to an unforgettable chapter in Nigerian football history.
With the Sky Blue Stars basking in glory, Osimhen’s act of kindness reminds the footballing world that champions uplift champions—on and off the pitch.
So where does the club go from here?!
